Vesper Hill Children’s Chapel has been the most frequent venue I have worked at since offering wedding photography, yet each ceremony makes the experience uniquely different. Autumn and Taylor’s special day was no exception. Their wedding was very small and intimate, with just a few of their loved ones sitting in the chapel, masked and spaced out, yet totally engaged in every bit of the ceremony.
Taylor tells me that their story started out with a 1am phone call from Autumn, completely out of the blue, Autumn wanting to tell Taylor that she was gorgeous.
“Mind you, we hadn’t talked in years, and even in high school we never really talked, so this was quite a surprise to me. After that we just began talking every day, all day, and became what I would call best friends. We would stay up til 4 am texting, and I’d make her watch the same Netflix show that I was but in different houses so that I could feel closer to her.”

With Taylor working at a local pizza and sandwich shop at the time, and with Autumn’s favorite sandwich being a steak and cheese, it wasn’t long before Autumn decided to surprise Taylor and come in to pick up dinner. Little did she know at the time, it would end up being the start of the rest of their lives together.
“Taylor was extremely shy in the beginning, and would beat around the bush with how she was feeling, so I stopped into her work one night to see her. I’ve never seen someone turn so red and have to use an emergency inhaler over me just walking in the room! I soon convinced her to crawl out of her hermit shell to come get dinner with me. Mid-dinner, we locked eyes and I was SOLD! Sounds corny but I was so captivated that I still can’t even explain how powerful that was. I instantly knew there was something about her and I knew I had to win this girl over. Our first official date was Gardens Aglow at the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. I remember just admiring her throughout the night and being so nervous but trying to play it cool. Then there was the first night her and Emma stayed over. We attempted to make a gingerbread train and Oreo balls. Both turned out awful but we had a fun time and I saw what a great mom she is to Emma.”

““From being an outstanding mom, to overcoming some tough challenges, Taylor is constantly giving me reasons to be proud of her; picking just one is difficult. A recent time I was proud of Taylor was when she took the steps to enroll back into college. We have A LOT going on right now and trying to balance everything is sometimes a struggle but she is determined. During a conversation we had regarding her going back to school, she expressed her reasons and one reason was for Emma. Not only does she want the ability to have more opportunities, but she wants to set an example for Emma about how important education is. What Taylor would do for Emma is limitless and I couldn’t be more proud of the kind of mother she is.””

The light. The dress. The tones. I mean come ONNN.
I love all of the little anticipation-filled moments throughout a wedding day. Father-daughter first looks are becoming more and more popular and I am so here for it.
Autumn reads Taylor’s surprise letter.
“I’m really looking forward to our first look. Autumn is already the most beautiful person to me and seeing her on our wedding day is just going to be WOW. I’m really looking forward to having her to spend my whole life with and grow with everyday. To make each other better people. To have more babies. All the good stuff.”

When Taylor asked, “Are you ready?” and Autumn said, “So ready.”
“I can’t wait to see where life takes us. We are so supportive of one another and we’re constantly working as a team as well as on ourselves, so I feel like we already have a great foundation that is only going to get stronger!”

“We have been through so many ups and down, laughs and tears, but we always manage to pull through. There has never been a time that Autumn hasn’t been there for me 100 percent, and Emma too. She had never really been around kids, but she took that role on when she got together with me. It’s been an adjustment for her, but her and Emma have an undeniable bond. That’s when I knew she was the person I wanted to spend my life with; when I realized that she would love, support and encourage both Emma and I no matter the circumstances. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for our family. Our relationship has been the most constant thing in both of ours lives up to this point.”

“I hope that Autumn always knows my fierce love for her. She is 100% the love of my life and I hope she always knows no matter what life may throw at us, I will give it my all to make it through anything. I couldn’t imagine a day without her and I wouldn’t want to.”
